NWSF Operational Status

March 16, 2020

The NWSF Team and Board of Directors have been carefully monitoring the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak in the Pacific Northwest. As an organization committed to supporting sarcoma patients and their caregivers, we feel it is important to be aligned with the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control. We are asking our staff to stay informed, practice personal hygiene like handwashing and follow the directives of public health officials and medical providers. We are also asking our staff to only participate in virtual meetings. We are working to reschedule or postpone our in-person gatherings until Summer and Fall 2020. We will continuously review the situation and update internal guidelines at the end of March incorporating any new guidance from federal and local public health authorities.

We understand that many patients and caregivers may be isolated at home to protect their health and we recognize the hardship this situation may cause. Please contact us by email: info@nwsarcoma.org or by phone at 206-257-7215 if we can be assistance to a sarcoma patient in need.

Together, we can ensure that no one faces sarcoma alone and we will all get through this difficult time together.
