This amazing little girl enters this world with a fight. Born with a life threatening heart defect know as transposition of the great vessels, and requiring open heart surgery at seven days old. Chelsey has only understood what it was like to battle for life, her entire life. The determination and the passion she had to simply live her life to the fullest were apparent in everything she did.

Her love and competitiveness for sports brought her to another decision in 2005 to have another open heart surgery; her heart defect was not going to slow her down. She was a force to be reckoned with in volleyball, basketball and softball. She was a natural stand out, and had high hopes to go to college on a sports scholarship and become a pediatric nurse.

In March of 2007, we were given the diagnosis that Chelsey had a large tumor in her left hip and sacrum (osteo-sarcoma). Quickly we were sent to Seattle to meet the Oncology team in. Our cancer journey began, and with countless surgeries, chemo, infections, months in the hospital, Chelsey lost her battle the day after Christmas, in 2007.

Chelsey never gave up, she fought so hard to beat this invading disease, she still made everyday a new day. Her courage, her faith, family, and friends rallied alongside her. Chelsey has left a mark in this world; her legacy still lives on in the form of the Chelsey Ebert Scholarship Fund. These Scholarships' help young athletes with a GPA greater than 3.5 offset college expenses. Chelsey was so special, a genuine person, giving in every sense, and she will be held tightly in our hearts forever.
