Melissa joined the Board in October 2005, one month after her son Jackson passed away from osteosarcoma. In January 2006 she became the Executive Director of the NW Sarcoma Foundation and still holds this position. Melissa's passion along with her family and the Foundation is working as a running coach for various running groups in Portland. Her focus is to serve the northwest patient population, their families and supporters through awareness of sarcoma and the need for fundraising to improve research and funding for these patients.
